Late Monday night, reports surfaced that former four-star quarterback recruit Malik Henry was set to transfer from Florida State after just one season.
Henry, who was suspended for a violation of team rules prior to the season before never seeing any playing time in 2016, announced his decision with a statement to 247 Sports.
The Long Beach, Calif. native also said he is not sure where he will transfer to, but reports indicate he is looking at a place clooser to the West Coast.
I have decided to transfer from Florida State University. I want to thank Coach Fisher and his staff for giving me the opportunity to be a student athlete at FSU. I wish him and the team nothing but success. At this time I don’t know what University I will be attending in the future.
During the recruiting process, UCLA was one of Henry’s finalists and was at one point considered a favorite by 247 Sports before the signal-caller received his offer from Florida State.
Henry also had offers from Arizona State, Cal, USC and Washington, among others, before deciding on the Seminoles.
