Golden Tate honors Craig Sager with custom cleats

The passing of Craig Sager due to his fight with cancer has drawn a wide array of tributes, memorials and kind words.

This week, Lions wide receiver Golden Tate will honor Sager with custom cleats matching one of the many colorful jackets Sager was known for wearing.

The cleats feature a blue, floral pattern, almost paisley with its design, and feature “R.I.P Craig Sager” along the front of the toe on both shoes.

Sager, who covered primarily basketball in his long and storied broadcasting career, transcended the scope any one sport. This kind of cross-platform memorial goes to show exactly how important Sager was to those who watched him grow up.

Sager, after a long fight that saw the cancer go into remission at one point, passed at the age of 65.

His ease, comfort and joy with which he did his job was a constant inspiration to those who watched him regardless of what sport they played or what line of work they were in. The tributes will likely continue to pour in as the sports season rolls along, and rightfully so, he was truly one of a kind.
