Richmond basketball: Grant Golden released from hospital

After a scary scene on Saturday night in Richmond, Virginia, Grant Golden was released from the hospital.

Golden was kept overnight for observance after he collapsed on the sideline of the game. Initial tests showed nothing definitive and more tests will be conductive following his release. There is currently no timetable for his return as the team of doctor attempt to discover what exactly is causing these health issues.

He took to Twitter to thank the outpouring of support he had received.

A cardiologist was scheduled to meet with Golden to evaluate him and potentially discuss the cause of his sudden spells.

Richmond was unable to come away with a victory in the game, and fell 79-72 to the Texas Tech Red Raiders at home in the Robins Center. Golden was averaging only two points per game in just over seven minutes per game. His absence could open an opportunity for Kwesi Abakah and Paul Friendshuh.
