Even Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski has had enough of Grayson Allen’s antics.
Following Wednesday night’s game against Elon where Allen blatantly kicked and tripped an Elon player before having a complete meltdown on the bench, Coach K has decided to suspend the guard indefinitely.
Duke announced Allen’s suspension on Thursday morning.
“We have had the opportunity to thoroughly review the incident involving Grayson Allen from last night’s game against Elon. As I stated last night, the incident was unacceptable and inexcusable,” Coach K said in a statement. “He took an important step last night by apologizing in person to Steven Stana Ana and Coach Matt Matheny.
“As a program, we needed to take further steps regarding his actions that do not meet the standards of Duke Basketball. To that end, we have determined that Grayson will be suspended from competition for an indefinite amount of time.”
Duke opens conference play on Saturday, Dec. 31 against Virginia Tech.
They then open the 2017 schedule with home games against Georgia Tech and Boston College, before traveling for a Jan. 10 matchup against Florida State.
It would be a surprise if Allen does not return to the court in time for the road trip to Tallahassee to take on the Seminoles.
