Nebraska honoring Tennessee wildfire victims with helmet sticker

The Nebraska football program will be honoring victims of the Gatlinburg wildfire in Tennessee on Friday afternoon.

Nebraska will be facing off against the Tennessee Volunteers in the Music City Bowl at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, so it was an appropriate time to pay honor to those who lost their family and belongings.

To honor the victims, the Cornhuskers will be wearing a special helmet decal for the game which reads “Mountain Tough.”

Nebraska shared an image of the helmet sticker on social media Monday.

That is a remarkable gesture from the Cornhuskers and one that will be appreciated by everyone who was impacted by the devastating wildfires earlier this month.

Kickoff between the No. 24 Cornhuskers and Volunteers is set for Friday, Dec. 30 at 3:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
