The Ultimate Fighting Championship gave mixed martial arts fans a special holiday treat on Saturday night, re-airing some of the best moments from this month’s UFC 206 pay-per-view in Toronto.
The Christmas Eve special aired on FOX and proved to be a huge ratings win for the promotion.
On Monday, the TV ratings from the special were released and the show averaged a whopping 4.6 million viewers. That number was enough to give the UFC the top ratings in primetime across the four major American television networks.
The special included the interim featherweight title fight between Max Holloway and Anthony Pettis, Donald Cerrone’s remarkable head kick knockout of Matt Brown, the Fight of the Year candidate between Cub Swanson and Doo Ho Choi, and Lano Vannata’s entry into the Knockout of the Year discussion.
