The 2016 college football bowl season rages on Thursday afternoon, with a triple-header taking place on ESPN beginning with a meeting between the South Carolina Gamecocks and USF Bulls in the Birmingham Bowl.
USF is looking to cap off an impressive 2016 campaign — which ended with a 10-2 regular season record and four consecutive wins — by knocking off a foe from the SEC, one of the top conferences in the nation.
For South Carolina, meanwhile, a win over USF in the season finale would bring some positive momentum entering the offseason after a year full of ups and downs as the Gamecocks struggled to get bowl eligible.
