The Michigan Wolverines are without do-it-all star Jabrill Peppers for today’s Orange Bowl clash with Florida State at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
Peppers’ absence from the game was a bit of a surprise, but more details are beginning to surface about what is keeping him out of action for the final game of the Wolverines’ 2016 campaign.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Peppers practiced all week with intentions of playing on Friday night.
However, he tweaked his hamstring at practice Thursday.
Peppers attempted to warm up in full pads prior to kickoff to see if he would be able to play, but he simply wasn’t healthy enough to take the field.
The report clearly stated this “is not a McCaffrey or Fournette situation,” indicating Peppers is legitimately injured and not simply looking to preserve himself for the upcoming 2017 NFL Draft.
