Perhaps a foreshadowing of things to come, Kentucky coach Mark Stoops got into a shouting match with Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson during the first quarter of the TaxSlayer Bowl today.

The outburst was one of two instances that Stoops would make his displeasure known. At halftime, he would have another outburst which ended with him having to be taken back form the locker room after knocking over a Gatorade cooler and kicking at the referees door.
Stoops, whose Wildcats trail by eight points with just under four minutes left in the fourth quarter, have looked disjointed all game. Georgia Tech kept them in check offensively for most of the game, as they only managed three points prior to the fourth quarter. After a pair of touchdowns in the fourth, the Wildcats have made a game of it, but still have a lot of work to do.
Chances for the Wildcats are long and they may struggle to overcome their slow start. Stoops has done everything he can to fire up his team, it’s up to them to match his intensity on the field.
