Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski will be undergoing back surgery and there isn’t a soul in the world who doesn’t want him to return to health quickly and safely. Back surgery is always a risk and we can only hope that a coach the caliber of Mike Krzyzewski will be able to find an “off” switch while his body heals up.
Count fellow legendary coach JohnCalipari among those who has wished the coach to get well.
Today, Calipari texted coach Coach K to wish him well, then he tweeted about it so that we all know how great a guy he is.
I just got done texting Coach K. Feel bad for him and told him I’ll be praying for his quick recovery.

Coach Calipari, who is currently promoting a new book that he wrote, and his Kentucky Wildcats are among one of the major programs that can contend with Duke this year. While the NCAA committed has already said it will “take into account” the games that Duke loses during Krzyzewski absence when seeding the tournament, it is another unfortunate incident in what has been a string of bad luck for Duke.
Their talented, but controversial junior guard Grayson Allen was recently suspended following another tripping scandal while playing Elon. Now Coach K is out. This season could go south really fast for Duke.
You can be sure other coaches will reach out to coach K and offer their support. Just don’t expect them to get all braggy about it.
