Video: 'The Bachelor' contenstant Raven Gates is a huge Arkansas fan

ABC’s long running, hit reality TV show “The Bachelor” premiered its 21st season tonight.
The first episode is usually reserved for getting to know the bachelor himself and a topographical view of the ladies who will be vying for his affection over the coming episodes.
Well, SEC fans now have their favorite contestant, or at least Razorback fans do.
Enter Raven Gates.

Gates, a Hoxie, Arkansas native, taught bachelor Nick Viall how to “call the hogs” in the season’s first episode. Is it endearing? Is it annoying? It’s both. It’s both.
“The Bachelor,” one of the remaining reality TV shows from the heyday of its type, has rolled into this season with a huge marketing campaign and what appears to be astronomical viewership. The topic was trending on Twitter as of 9 p/m. ET.
It remains to be seen what kind of effect this will have on the recruiting trail for the Razorbacks. A little publicity never hurts. You don’t see anyone saying “Roll Tide” on Survivor, do you?
