Duke basketball star Grayson Allen, the most hated player in America, found himself in another controversy on Tuesday night after colliding with Florida State assistant Dennis Gates in the bench area before Gates fell to the ground.
Allen was hustling to the sideline in an attempt to keep the ball inbounds when the two men made contact.
It looked like nothing more than a great effort from Allen, but because of his past tripping/kicking controversies he found himself under extra scrutiny.
Here was the play in question:

On Wednesday morning, Gates took to Twitter to give a statement on the situation.
Gates actually defended Allen for his hustle on the play, while taking blame for not getting out of the way in time to avoid any contact with the player.
