Photo: Rice football field has turned into a lake thanks to rain storm

It’s a good thing the Rice football stadium doesn’t need to play host to an Owls game anytime soon, because it is currently unplayable.
On Wednesday morning, Associate Athletic Trainer Shawn Ready took to social media to share a photo of the field which is completely underwater after two days of heavy rain in the area which has shut down the interstate.

Because of the flooding on campus, the university has left it up to individual professors to determine whether they will hold class throughout the day.
“Flooding on campus has subsided and entrances are open. Faculty should use discretion about whether to hold class this morning,” a statement read. “If you decide not to hold class this morning, please notify your students. If you do decide to hold class, please make accomodations for those students who are unable to make it to campus.
“Empoyees will not be charged benefit time if they cannot get to work on time this morning.”
Stay safe out there, folks.
