Former Minnesota football coach Jerry Kill is excited for his second opportunity.
After retiring two years ago due to a bout with cancer, Kill has now resurfaced as the offensive coordinator of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
As you would expect, Kill is more than happy to resume his coaching career.
“I didn’t know if I would get that opportunity again, to be healthy enough to do it,” Kill told SI.com. “For (head coach) Chris (Ash) to give me the opportunity – I think he gave it to me for two reasons. One, certainly to help out the offense, but the other part of it is I have been a part of turning around programs my whole life. I think we make a good team and feed off of each other.”
Kill says he has not suffered a seizure in over a year.
There is no denying Kill is a talented coach, so it’s a great addition to the Rutgers staff. It’s also great to see that Kill is doing well and healthy enough to be back on the sidelines.
