There has been plenty of discussion regarding the quarterback class in the 2017 NFL Draft. With no clear-cut No. 1 prospect at the position, players like Deshaun Watson, Mitch Trubisky and DeShone Kizer have been mentioned as the first signal-caller off the board.
Well, now we can add another name to that list.
During an appearance on the Setting the Edge Podcast, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network said some talent evaluators view Mahomes as the best in the 2017 class.
Raporport also noted “if he makes it to round two” that Mahomes could very well be the pick for the Arizona Cardinals.
There is plenty of time between now and April’s draft — with events like school Pro Days and the NFL Scouting Combine — so it will be interesting to see which quarterback ultimately ends up coming off the board first.
Watson or Trubisky would be the smartest bet as of now, but we apparently need to keep an eye out on Mahomes.
