Chris Rumph has done well enough with the Gators defensive line that the program feels he is ready for more responsibility. On Friday, he received word that he will be sharing the duties of the defensive coordinator position for the upcoming season. Rumph will work alongside Randy Shannon who will be the other co-defensive coordinator.
Florida also crystalized the rest of the roles for their coaching staff.
Chris Rumph will coach the defensive line and share duties as defensive coordinator.
Tim Skipper will coach the linebackers, Corey Bell will coach the defensive backs, Ja’Juan Seider will take over duties as the running backs coach, and Brad Davis will coach the offensive line in the upcoming season.
Shifting from the running back position over to the linebacking position, Tim Skipper makes room for Ja’Juan Seider who has held the same position at West Virginia and Marshall.
Florida has a whale of a season opener ahead of them and will need all of these coaches working double-time to have their footballers ready to play. Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines will be lining up on the other side on Sept. 2.
