Duke Burns Benches On Abele Quad After Victory Over Tar Heels

Duke managed to come up big with a much needed win against North Carolina yesterday. Grayson Allen was every bit as good as he’s ever been, and Duke looked a cut above in yesterday’s ACC matchup.
With the victory secured, there was only one thing left to do.
BURN SOMETHING.
Following the decisive 86-78 victory, the students at Duke University gathered at the most college place you can think of, “the Quad”, and burned benches. In one of the seemingly most dangerous of school-sanctioned traditions, the Blue Devils basked the the red-orange glow over the baby-blue.

Grayson Allen was every bit the fiery leader that Duke will need him to be if they hope to make a deep tournament run. In front of fellow Duke legends Christian Laettner and J.J. Reddick, Allen scored seemingly at will and finished with 25 points.
Jayson Tatum picked up the slack in the second half and poured in 19 points of his own when all was said and done.
The two teams will meet one more time in the conference play before the ACC tournament begins. Duke hopes to ruin the handiwork of a few more carpenters that night.
