James Dolan better be prepared for “Free Oakley” chants at every home game for the remainder of the season.
Following an incident earlier this week which led to New York Knicks legend Charles Oakley getting into a scuffle before eventually being arrested, ESPN Radio host Michael Kay is reporting Oakley has been banned for life from Madison Square Garden.
Oakley will not be allowed in the arena even if he purchases a ticket.

Oakley is loved by the fans, but he has not been involved in any of the team’s 70th anniversary festivities and has not been invited to the arena after being very critical of the team’s management.
That situation boiled over when Oakley reportedly heckled Dolan from his seat, but Oakley has claimed he was unfairly treated.
What a mess. You hate to see a legendary player banned from an arena where he is loved by the fan base, but hey, this is James Dolan we’re talking about who ultimately made the decision. What did we really expect?
