Towson forward John Davis will miss the remainder of the 2016-17 college basketball season after being injured in a drive-by shooting while visiting his home in Philadelphia.
Davis had a bullet graze his left leg and the injury will not allow him to return to the court for the Tigers.
Towson head coach Pat Skerry commented on Davis’ status during the weekly teleconference.
“His health is fine,” Skerry said, via College Basketball Talk. “He’ll be able to play next year overseas, but he won’t play the rest of this season. He’s been a leader for us and a good role model for our guys. We are forever grateful for John. He’s done a lot more for our program than what we were ever able to do for him.”
This season, Davis was averaging 11.8 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.
We wish Davis a full and speedy recovery.
