Lane Kiffin continues to make additions to his coaching staff at FAU.
Kiffin, who is entering his first year as coach of the Owls, is already raiding the coffer of his former employer. Today, news broke that Clint Trickett would be joining Kiffin’s staff as the TE’s coach.
Trickett was set to join coach Nick Saban at Alabama this upcoming year before reaching an agreement with FAU. He also coached at East Mississippi Community College which was the subject of the Netflix original series “Last Chance U.”
As a player, Trickett played for both Florida State and West Virginia and amassed 4,890 passing yards and 25 touchdowns

For Trickett, the move makes obvious sense in many ways, but might come back and bite him long term. Nick Saban is a known commodity when it comes to teaching young men how to play football, but he is also something of a savant when it comes to building coaches.
While Lane Kiffin’s tenure has as a head coach has been tumultuous everywhere he has gone, Saban is a stable and proven success at Alabama and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Kiffin, on the other hand, might be out the door before lunch if a Power 5 school asked him to come aboard.
