Late Sunday, Charlotte 49ers quarterback Kevin Olsen, the brother of NFL tight end Greg Olsen, was arrested on rape charges.
Olsen was arrested for second-degree forcible rape, cyberstalking and assault on a female. He was later booked in the Charlotte Mecklenburg Jail, according to reports.
The university released a statement which read:
“This incident occurred a week after a separate, unrelated case of alleged on-campus sexual assault involving acquaintances. Olsen has been suspended from Charlotte athletics, and the University is reviewing the case consistent with its disciplinary procedures.”
As you would expect, Charlotte coach Brad Lambert says Olsen has been suspended from the team.
This continues a troubling trend for Olsen, who left Miami after multiple suspensions and eventually was kicked off of the Towson football team for a violation of team rules.
