For the third season in a row, the Gonzaga basketball team has suffered a loss on Senior Night.
On Saturday, the Bulldogs watched their quest for an undefeated season end thanks to a loss to BYU at McCarthey Athletic Center. It was the second time in three years that BYU defeated Gonzaga on Senior Night, but this one will really sting.
BYU won, 79-71.
It was Gonzaga’s regular season finale.

The loss isn’t the worst thing for Gonzaga, as they can now move forward without the added pressure of keeping their perfect record intact.
The Bulldogs will remain one of the favorites entering the 2017 NCAA Tournament and could still land a No. 1 seed if they go one to win the WCC Tournament.
Gonzaga’s loss could also light a fire under the team and provide some extra motivation as they head into the postseason.
