VIDEO: NJCAA Hockey Player Viciously KO’s Referee, Championship Game Called Off

The NJCAA hockey national champion ended in brutal fashion, with a player from Erie Community College losing his cool and viciously checking a referee which left him unconscious.

With Erie losing to Dakota College, 7-4, in the game’s final moments, freshman Brandon Day came flying out of the penalty box to level a referee.

The referee was injured by the brutal check and officials called off the game prematurely.

Dakota College won the game, which ended with 39 seconds remaining.

There is no excuse and no place for that in any sport at any level.

To make matters worse, this was the last-ever NJCAA national hockey tournament final, according to Sports Illustrated.
