Tom Herman is hoping to change the culture in Texas and return the Longhorns to National prominence.
Following the firing of Charlie Strong, Herman joins the Longhorns after a successful stint in which he led the Houston Cougars to their most successful seasons in school history.
Now that he is coaching at one of the premier schools in the country, Herman is going to need his big boys to lose a little weight.
Tom Herman: "We’ve got to find some D-lineman. I’m worried about that group through the winter offseason. Didn’t perform that well."

Herman expressed concern over the fitness of his defensive line. It isn’t without reason as last season the Longhorns finished 76th in the country in rush defense.
They shared that ranking with Kent State, company the Longhorns would prefer to not be in whenever possible.
“I think we’d know a lot more if a lot of these fat guys lost some weight,” Herman continued. “I’ve seen (defensive coordinator) Todd Orlando make chicken salad out of some lesser parts. So I have confidence in that staff.”
Fans at Texas are expecting results right away. After three years of futility under Strong, the Longhorns are yearning to be relevant again. Herman has a proven track record and is as good as anyone else to turn the program around, but it seems like the bulk of the work will need to be done by the bulkiest players on the team.
