The NFL Combine has helped turn the football season into a year round event.
While all of the events at the showcase have their place and are important in their own right, they are not all created equal. At least not to the legions of fans that pour over the reports from the day of workouts.
By a long shot, the most exciting even is the 40-yard dash.
Speed thrills, they say.
Here is a look at the top 10 finishes at this years 40 yard dash.

John Ross has made headlines since he broke Chris Johnson’s record for fastest time at the event. No doubt, the speedster can expect a nice bump in his paycheck after his impressive showing at the showcases marquee event. But there are several other names on this list that made themselves far more desirable to decision makers in the war-room.
Curtis Samuel finished with the fastest time for a running back this year, while most of the top 10 filled by wide receivers and defensive backs.
Looks like the passing game is getting faster and faster.
