Sidney Jones Injury: ‘NFL Source’ Fears Torn Achilles For Potential First-Rounder

Washington football star Sidney Jones may have just watched one of his worst fears become a reality during the Huskies’ Pro Day on Saturday afternoon.

According to reports from those in attendance, Jones went down with a lower left leg injury and was carted off of the field. Jones was reportedly injured while backpedaling and ultimately was taken off the field.

Stephen Cohen of seattlepi.com confirmed that news with a photo on social media.

It gets worse for Jones, though.

The projected first-round pick may now watch his draft stock plummet. If the rumors coming out of the Washington Pro Day are to be believed, Jones could end up missing his entire rookie season with a torn Achilles.

Eric Edholm of Yahoo! Sports shared the bad news.

Just had NFL source (in attendance at Washington pro day) text:

"It's a torn Achilles" he was told for CB Sidney Jones. As feared.

You would hate to see that be the case, but we will have to wait until Washington, Jones or his agent comment on the severity of the injury.

If it does prove to be true, the star defensive back could be losing out on millions.
