Gennady Golovkin has kept his perfect record intact.
On Saturday night, Golovkin met Daniel Jacobs inside of the ring for a pay-per-view headlining championship fight at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Golovkin (37-0) earned a unanimous decision (115-112, 115-112, 114-113) over Jacobs (32-2) to successfully defend his WBA, WBC and IBO middleweight titles.
It was the first time in Golovkin’s career that he went all 12 rounds.
The 12-round fight ended Golovkin’s impressive 23-fight knockout streak which dated back to 2008. Golovkin had earned knockouts in 33 of his last 36 fights.
In the co-main event, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai stunned the boxing world to claim the junior bantamweight championship over Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez via majority decision, a decision that many disagreed with.
