The Louisville football program is coming of a season that was largely a success, and looking to build on it.
With a returning Heisman trophy winner and several of his favorite offensive weapons remaining on the team, and in the same system, the Cardinals figure to have a potent offensive attack this year.
However, they will be without one of the most important pieces of their offense throughout the spring as he recovers from a stress fracture in his foot.
WR Jaylen Smith and Jonathan Greenard will be out after having surgery. Trevon Young will see some action this spring

Jaylen Smith, who is one of Jackson’s favorite targets and Louisville’s best deep threat will be unable to participate in any football activities this spring.
It doesn’t appear that the injury will carry over to the regular season, but the Cardinals were certainly disappointed to receive the news. Smith is expected to see an increased workload this season, and the team would obviously like to get him as many reps with Lamar Jackson as possible.
