If Georges St-Pierre looks flat when he makes his return to the Octagon against Michael Bisping later this year, it certainly won’t have anything to do with his fitness.
Notorious for his intense and unusual workout regimens, St-Pierre was back at it again when he showed off his super-human core strength while working on the rings typically used by gymnasts.
At age 35, he appears as ready and fit as ever. He’ll need every bit of an advantage as he can get as he returns to the Octagon after a four-year hiatus.
St-Pierre will be returning for a middleweight title fight against current champion Michael Bisping.
When Joe Rogan first announced that St-Pierre would be making his return to the UFC, he said that he was still in great shape and his body was healthy and ready to go. That doesn’t appear to have been an overstatement any way you slice it.
St-Pierre hasn’t fought professionally in an extended period of time, but with this level of fitness and his level of experience, that might not matter as much as we might think.
