Paige VanZant To Appear On Food Network’s Chopped

Rising UFC star Paige VanZant is set to appear in another competition to show her versatility.

This week, it was announced that the No. 11-ranked strawweight will be a competitor on an upcoming celebrity edition of Food Network’s “Chopped.”

VanZant will compete against three other celebrities on her episode — figure skating legend Dorothy Hamill, NFL player LaMarr Woodley and Olympic gold medalist Mariel Zagunis — with winner moving on to a championship episode which will include a $50,000 grand prize that will be donated to charity.

The episode featuring VanZant will air on Tuesday, April 4 at 10 p.m. ET.

The episode synopsis reads:

Positively driven to compete, four star athletes battle it out in the kitchen for a spot in the finale. An exceptionally weird flavor of soda and a cheesy dish are two of the basket stumpers the competitors face in the appetizer round, and one competitor asks another for a surprising favor at the end of the round. The judges get three distinct lamb dishes from a threesome of sports stars in the entree round. The two athletes who get to rock the dessert round get rock candy as one of their mandatory ingredients.

VanZant, who holds a 7-3 professional record in mixed martial arts, previously took some time away for another reality show, Dancing With The Stars.

During her time on the dance floor, VanZant impressed everyone with her moves and went on finish as the show’s runner-up.
