Coastal Carolina Cheerleading Team Suspended For Alleged Prostitution, Misconduct

Well, the Coastal Carolina cheerleading team just threw its hat into the mix for craziest scandal of 2017.

On Friday afternoon, reports surfaced that the cheerleading team has been suspended following allegations of prostitution and other misconduct, including purchasing alcohol for underage members of the team.

The report comes from WMBF News.

Coastal Carolina school president David DeCenzo reportedly received a letter that alleged of the misconduct, which included prostitution, purchasing alcohol and paying other students to complete homework assignments.

From the report:

“According to the cheerleader, the team was met by police outside the HTC Center after practice, who called the names of individual team members, and took them to CCU’s police station for questioning. During the questioning, the cheerleader said police searched through their cell phones. She said officers then told them they could leave around 11 p.m., after telling them they did nothing wrong.

The Coastal Carolina cheerleading site has since been removed from the university’s athletic website.
