The student section for UNC is surprisingly uninvolved for the biggest game of the year.
All the seats have a corresponding butt, and yet the there is a general lack of enthusiasm for their hometown team. What can explain this? Well, a lot of it is likely due to the fact that they’re Arizona State students.
The Tar Heels failed to sell out their student section tickets for the game, and as a result offered them to nearby Arizona State students, instructing them to wear white while sitting in the section.

Despite their best acting job, though, it became apparent the loyalty of those in the students section lay elsewhere.
When an advertisement for the university came up on the big board in the stadium, 70 percent of the student section held up the Sun Devils “Fork Em'” symbol with their hands. The students weren’t instructed that they had to cheer for North Carolina, but they were asked not to wear any clothes that featured the Arizona State symbol or logo.
Whether your team is in the game or not, if you’re offered free tickets to the National Championship of anything, you go.
