Memphis Basketball: Markel Crawford Becomes Sixth Player To Transfer This Offseason

-

The Memphis basketball program will have plenty of holes to fill on the roster for next year.

On Monday, it was announced that Markel Crawford has become the sixth Tigers player to transfer from the program. The news was passed along by Crawford during an interview on ESPN 929.

Last season, the 6-foot-5 guard averaged 12.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.

Other players to transfer from Memphis are the Lawson brothers Dedric and K.J., guards Craig Randall and Keon Clergeot and 6-foot-11 big man Chad Rykhoek.

The Lawsons committed to Kansas earlier in the day and will be forced to sit out a year to satisfy NCAA transfer rules.

Memphis head coach Tubby Smith has his work cut out for him leading up to next season.
