Illinois Basketball: Top Recruit Jeremiah Tilmon Released From NLI

The Illinois basketball program will not have the top member of its Class of 2017.
On Tuesday, it was announced that Jeremiah Tilmon has been released from his National Letter of Intent, according to Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Tilmon is a four-star recruit and was ranked as the No. 1 player in the state of Illinois.
The 6-foot-10 center asked for his release from Illinois after the Fighting Illini fired John Groce and replaced him with new head coach Brad Underwood.
Now on the verge of looking for a new home, Tilmon is expected to land with the Missouri Tigers.
That would be a major get for the Missouri program, which will also be welcoming Michael Porter Jr., the No. 1 overall recruit in the nation, next season.
