Michigan Football Fans Name Newborn Son After Jim Harbaugh

Better hope he doesn’t wear out the brass at Michigan and is forced to move elsewhere. It’s happened before. Banking on the fact that Jim Harbaugh is building a dynasty at Michigan, a couple of Wolverine fans decided to name their newborn son after the popular football coach.

Harbaugh Lee Fetting weighed a health eight pounds, two ounces, and had his future decided for him immediately.

Harbaugh shared a card introducing the newborn.

Harbaugh Lee, now seven months old, was brought to the worlds attention after coach Harbaugh himself tweeted about it. Harbaugh is a particularly active coach on social media, so it’s no surprise he was all over this when it was brought to his attention.

Think this would still be a story if they’d decided to name their son Saban Fettig? Or Meyer Fettig? Doubt it.

Don’t be surprised if the Fettig’s get offered something by the coach through the university. From the looks of that card posted in the tweet, this isn’t their first child. Their kids would probably love an opportunity to attend a game while being the coaches guest of honor.

PR like this is a gold-mine for coaches and program; it helps build good-will with the fan base and comes a virtually no cost.

A win-win for everyone. (Except the baby if he grows up to hate football).
