USC Basketball: Chimezie Metu Returning For Junior Year

The USC basketball program received some good news as it gears up for what should be a promising 2017-18 campaign.
Late Monday night, sophomore standout Chimezie Metu took to social media to announce he will be returning for his junior year. Metu never really seemed tempted by the NBA Draft waters and instead is looking to build off of his impressive 2017 performance.
“Year 3 coming soon,” Metu wrote.

Last season, Metu averaged 14.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game.
The 6-foot-11 forward emerged as one of the top players for the Trojans prior to their Round of 32 exit in the 2017 NCAA Tournament.
With Metu returning next season, USC seems poised to be a serious contender in the Pac-12. The Trojans will also be adding Duke transfer Derryck Thornton, so there is plenty to be excited about when next basketball season rolls around in L.A.
