Following the best season in the history of the Northwestern basketball program, head coach Chris Collins appears set for a big rewarded.
On Monday, Jeff Goodman of ESPN reported that Collins is set to receive a “lengthy” extension.
During the 2016-17 college basketball season, Collins led the Wildcats to a 24-12 record which landed the team its first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history. After a Round 1 win over Vanderbilt, Northwestern was bounced in the Round of 32.
Northwestern captivated the country and was the darling team of the tournament.
With Collins locked up for the foreseeable future and momentum rolling for the Wildcats, it will be exciting to see how they continue to improve over the next few seasons.
