2017 NFL Draft Trade Value Chart

The 2017 NFL Draft is just hours away and the latest buzz indicates we could see plenty of movement in the first round on Thursday night.
One of the most talked about moves involves the Tennessee Titans, who have reportedly received multiple offers for the No. 5 overall pick. Reports indicate the Titans are considering a trade, with the Cleveland Browns widely regarded as the most logical trade partner to move up and select UNC quarterback Mitch Trubisky.
But what goes into making a trade?
Many in the draft community rely on the NFL Draft Trade Value Chart which was made famous by former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson in the early 1990’s. The chart assigns a numerical value to each pick which allows general managers to add up picks and see whether the value is comparable to a higher selection.
For example, the Titans No. 5 pick is assigned a value of 1,700 points. If the Browns wanted to receive that pick, they’d simply have to package their No. 12 (1,200 points) and one of the team’s second-round selections — like the No. 33 overall pick (580 points) to make a fair deal.
