NFL Draft Rumors: Davis Webb Is Browns' Plan B In Round 2?

Davis Webb has started to generate buzz on the NFL Draft rumor mill when it matters most, right before the draft.
The Cal quarterback has often been considered in the second-tier of quarterbacks throughout the entire draft process, but the tide might be starting to turn on that current of thinking.
According to Ian Rapoport, don’t be surprised to see Webb’s name called sooner than previously anticipated.

And according to draft guru Tony Pauline, if the Browns pass on Mitch Trubisky in the first round, Webb would be the team’s “Plan B” with the No. 33 pick.
While Webb certainly has the goods to play at a high level in the NFL, drafting a quarterback on “intangibles” can become a slippery slope. Why is that? Because intangibles are hard to put your finger on.
The quarterback talk has been dominated by the Trubisky vs. Deshaun Watson discussion to this point, but there are a number of options available later in the draft that present developmental opportunities.
Webb, Patrick Mahomes and Kaaya are all options that could reasonably sit and learn behind a seasoned hand, then take over a team and lead them to a deep playoff run.
If the Browns don’t take a quarterback in the first round this year, there might be rioting. Please, for the sake of never having to make another comment about the number of quarterbacks the Cleveland fans have had to watch under center on Sunday, pick a quarterback.
