Notre Dame quarterback DeShone Kizer was not one of the three signal-callers who heard his name called in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft on Thursday night in Philadelphia.
However, that hasn’t stopped the former Fighting Irish star from looking forward to his future.
While Kizer is obviously disappointed he was not one of the first 32 picks, he is one of the top remaining players on the board as we enter Day 2 on Friday — which features the second- and third-round of the draft.
On Friday morning, Kizer commented on the disappointment while also being thankful of the entire draft experience.
Disappointed in not being drafted last night but very excited to see what my future holds. Me and my family had an incredible experience. pic.twitter.com/WP8QYvk5K5

Kizer, along with quarterbacks like Nathan Peterman and Davis Webb, should be among the quarterbacks who hear their names called over the next two rounds. The only question is: where will Kizer suit up to begin his professional career?
Round 2 of the NFL Draft kicks off at 7 p.m. ET tonight on ESPN and the NFL Network.
