NFL Draft Results 2017: SEC Tops All Conferences With 53 Picks

The 2017 NFL Draft is in the books.
After three thrilling days in Philadelphia, seven rounds are complete and the results are in. People immediately began sifting through the draft results to find some data, including which conference was represented the best.
When it was all said and done, the SEC continues to dominate the draft with a whopping 53 players being selected.
The SEC was followed by the ACC with 42 picks and 36 players out of the Pac-12 getting the call. Perhaps the biggest surprise was that the Big 12 failed to funnel its talent, with only 14 players from the conference being selected. That was by far the lowest out of the Power 5 conferences.
To put things into perspective, even the American Athletic Conference had a better showing, with 15 players getting picked.
The conference-by-conference breakdown can be seen below:

CONFERENCE NO. OF PICKS
SEC 53
ACC 42
Pac-12 36
Big Ten 35
AAC 15
Big 12 14
