Joey Bada$$'s 'Victory' Combines Hip Hop & Basketball For The NBA

Joey Bada$$ has been getting a lot of publicity and is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.
An apparent star on the rise, anticipation is high for his upcoming debut album “B4.DA.$$.”
During the NBA’s All-Star weekend this season, Joey Bada$$ shot the music video for his song “Victory,” which blends the often intertwined cultures of hip hop and basketball.

The song is ripe with NBA references, his first verse ends by alluding to His Airness, “Two-Three when I’m my zone.”
While Bada$$’s single “Christ Conscious” is a more apt representation of the type of music he produces, “Victory” screams “promotional material.” Sponsored by Mountain Dew, the song has the look, feel, and sound of something that was made in conduction with an eye towards promoting the NBA.
A release date for his debut album has been set, but has not yet been officially announced.
