Don’t worry, Takkarist McKinley, there’s no fine coming. Not even later.
McKinley, who was a first-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in the 2017 NFL Draft, stole the show after being selected. The former UCLA Bruins star edge rusher walked onto the stage with a framed photograph of his late-grandmother before giving a passionate, expletive-filled interview with Deion Sanders of the NFL Network.
It was pure, raw passion and emotion from McKinley who was laying his heart on the line, but there was some concern he could be fined by the NFL for dropping an F-bomb on live television.
Well, luckily for McKinley, he won’t have to take any money out of his rookie contract.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the rookie defensive end will not be fined by the league.
I think everyone can agree that is a good decision. The last thing you want to do is have to attempt to defend fining a young man for speaking from the heart during one of the biggest moments of his life.
New #Falcons LB Takk McKinley famously said on stage “fine me later” after cursing post-pick. No worries. Source said he won’t be fined 💯💯💯
