What can be said about Martin Shrkeli that hasn’t already been said by millions of comments on Twitter, YouTube and Instagram? He’s the internet’s favorite hate figure.
Shkreli’s biggest, and most unfortunate instance of greed and lust for power came when his pharmaceutical company chose to raise the price of HIV/AIDS medication 5,556 percent with no practical reason.
After purchasing the Wu-Tang Clans “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin” for $2 million, Shrkeli live streamed several tracks form the album to celebrate Donald Trumps election as President of the United States. Upon purchasing the album, which is the only one in existence, Shkreli had previously agreed not to release any of the music on the album for 88 years.
He’s back at it again, and this time Lil’ Wayne’s “Tha Carter V” is the target.
The long anticipated releases of Wayne’s album has been continually postponed since 2014 over disagreements with Birdman and Cash Money Records. He previously released tracks off the album in December, but after being approached by lawyers representing the artist, he promised not to do it again.
Looks like he lied.
While you don’t want to side with Shkreli, an all-around bad guy, Lil’ Wayne has been teasing this album for way too long. Just release the whole thing and be done with it; Wayne or Shkreli, nobody cares which at this point.
