The biggest Wendy’s chicken nugget fan finally received his free year of nuggs.
On Twitter, after Carter Wilkerson’s viral tweet asking for free nuggets eclipsed 3.4 million retweets — far less than the 18 million Wendy’s initially suggested — Wendy’s sent out a congratulatory tweet showing Carter with a certificate and his free nugget coupons.
Wendy’s decided to reward Carter’s efforts which led to his tweet becoming the most retweeted tweet in the history of Twitter.
That’s a pretty impressive accomplishment, and shows just how much love in the world there is for chicken nuggets — especially when they’re free.
.@carterjwm is now the most retweeted tweet of all-time. That’s good for the nuggets, and $100k to @DTFA. Consider it done. #nuggsforcarter pic.twitter.com/k6uhsJiP4E

Eventually the tweet would take off and surpass Ellen Degeneres’ previous retweet record which was set when she shared an epic, star-studded selfie from the 2014 Oscars.

Congrats on the big accomplishment, Carter.
And if you have any leftover creamy sriracha dipping sauce laying around from one of your many future trips to Wendy’s, hook a brother up.
