The Wichita State basketball program has a big year ahead.
After deciding to move from the Missouri Valley Conference to the American Athletic Conference, they’ll need all the help they can get. That’s why the news that they received on Tuesday from their leading scorer was such a relief.
On his personal Twitter page, Markis McDuffie announced he would be returning for his junior year.

McDuffie will figure to be a huge contributor for the team Shockers again in 2017-18 season. His 11.5 points for Wichita State last season was supplemented by his 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 steals he averaged per game.
The Shockers return a deep team capable of finding success in their first year in the AAC. They’ll face stiffer competition, but will stand a better chance at qualifying for a higher seed in the NCAA tournament.
Wichita State will be returning all five of its top scorers from last season, which bodes well for their chances this upcoming season.
