Greg McDermott Comments On Decision To Stay At Creighton

Creighton basketball coach Greg McDermott surprised some by turning down an offer to become head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes in order to remain at his position with the Bluejays.
McDermott initially announced his decision to stay at Creighton with a tweet, before discussing the news with reporters.
His decision to stay at Creighton boiled down to just one thing: happiness.
“A wise man once said, you don’t mess with happy,” McDermott told reporters, according to the Omaha Sports Insider. He later added, “This is the place for me.”
McDermott has a record of 165-81 leading the Creighton basketball program and has had success taking the Bluejays to the NCAA Tournament. Last season, Creighton reached the tournament after going 25-10 but was eliminated by Rhode Island in the first round.
