Miami football coach Mark Richt isn’t going to let the fact that the Clemson Tigers are reigning national champions stop him from throwing some shots at the conference foe.
According to The Palm Beach Post, Richt was accepting the key to the city when he mocked Clemson for a giant slide inside of the team’s facility.
Richt was praising the Hurricanes program and citing advantages they have in recruiting thanks to the beautiful landscape, when he couldn’t resist taking his little jab at Dabo Swinney’s team.
“It’s like no other place in America,” Richt said. “Even in recruiting, we can sell things that no one else can sell. They can build all they want. They can have all they want. I mean, there’s schools building slides and playgrounds in their building, just so they can have fun. I said, we’ve got the beach. We don’t have to build some slide to have fun.”
Nice burn, Mark.
Clemson’s facility also has a basketball court and nap room, so it’s hard to make fun of it too much. The slide is a bit silly, but it seems like the players enjoy it so that’s a big win.
You have to admit, that looks kind of fun.
