The Ohio State basketball program has hired head coach Chris Holtmann away from the Butler Bulldogs.
It was disappointing news for the Butler program, which has reached the NCAA Tournament in all three seasons under Holtmann’s direction, but it was a well-deserved opportunity.
Despite some Butler fans being happy for Holtmann getting a job at a Power Five school, there was someone who was dealing with heartbreak.
Enter Butler Blue III, the school’s live mascot.
Butler Blue shared a hilarious video on social media that shows the mascot with a sad life as tear-jerking music plays in the background.

Well played, Butler.
And credit to Ohio State for their A+ response to the tweet.

Twitter can really be the best sometimes.
Holtmann went 70-31 during his time leading the Bulldogs, including Big East Coach of the Year and John McLendon National Coach of the Year honors a this past season. Throughout his entire career, Holtmann has gone 114-85 overall with a 4-3 record in the NCAA Tournament.
