When Eddie Lacy signed with the Seattle Seahawks this offseason, his contract drew a lot of attention. The main reason was a provision that stated the talented, but often hefty running back would earn a bonus if he managed to hit certain benchmarks with his weight.
When Lacy signed with the Seahawks in March of the 2017 season, he weighed in at a whopping 267 pounds. He managed the get himself under the 255 pound benchmark by the May 15th deadline.
Weighing in at 255 pounds, Lacy collected a considerable $55,000.
Now in June, he collected another $55,000 from the Seahawks for weighing in under 250 pounds. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported the bonus early on Monday.
Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy passed his weigh-in today, per source. Should collect his $55K for being 250 lb or below.

Lacy has struggled with his weight throughout his NFL career. He has been a dangerous, powerful back, capable of butchering the defensive line when in peak physical condition.
If Lacy is able to continue to be in shape and underweight, he’ll be a huge asset for the Seahawks this season. They’re looking to him to provide what they lost with the retirement of Marshawn Lynch.
I currently weigh 145 and am waiting for my check from the Seahawks in the mail.
